Ann is 23, has two daughters, a husband, Don and lives in a trailer at the back of her mothers house in Vancouver. Her grey existence is transformed however when she discovers she has an untreatable condition. Keeping this a secret, she makes a list of 'Things to do before dying' which she completes little by little.

Unexpectedly, Ann discovers an appetite for life that drives her to live with a sensual and furious intensity she had not known before.

She prepares her daughters for life without her, meets a man whom she seduces and paradoxically heals... and faces each next day with a courage she never knew she had.
