Ruffalo to wrestle with Carell in Foxcatcher
The Avengers co-star Mark Ruffalo is in talks to star alongside Steve Carell in Bennett Miller's Foxcatcher, Variety reports. Ruffalo would play Olympic wrestler David Schultz who was shot & killed by his close friend, John du Pont (Carell), in 1996. Channing Tatum is also set to star as Schultz's younger brother.
Whedon talks Avengers cuts
The Avengers director Joss Whedon has told Collider that many of the cuts made from his initial 3 hour "assembly" of the film were ancillary character elements. The theatrical version of the film will run 2 hours 22 minutes, with "at least 30 minutes" of deleted scenes to be included on the Blu-ray/DVD release.
Feige talks Thor 2, Hulk
At The Avengers junket in LA, Marvel Studios' President of Production Kevin Feige has told Collider that Thor 2 is set to begin filming in London in 3 months time & will deal with the destruction of Bifrost at the end of the first film & how it has affected the Nine Realms. Feige also said there are no plans for a Hulk movie starring Mark Ruffalo.
Iron Man 3 to be co-produced in China
Disney, Marvel & DMG Entertainment have announced that the third Iron Man film will be co-produced in China. DMG will manage the Chinese location production of the Shane Black-directed film which is set to debut in the US on May 3, 2013.
Harris to hear Quiet Ones
Mad Men's Jared Harris is set to star in John Pogue's The Quiet Ones for Hammer Films, Deadline reports. Harris will play a charismatic but controversial professor whose methods lead his students off the grid for a dangerous experiment to create a poltergeist. Shooting starts in the UK in June.
Patterson to have Super Fun Night with CBS
Sketch comedy actress Edi Patterson will co-star with Rebel Wilson & Jenny Slate in CBS' comedy pilot Super Fun Night, Deadline reports. Written by Wilson, the plot follows 3 nerdy female friends on their quest to have super fun every Friday night.
Miller visits Disappointments Room
Former Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has penned a new thriller called The Disappointments Room which will be developed by Voltage Pictures & Killer Films, says The Hollywood Reporter. The story follows a family that moves into a mysterious old house in the country that has a dark past.
Fey gets an Intern
30 Rock's Tina Fey is attached to star in Nancy Meyers' The Intern for Paramount Pictures, Deadline reports. Fey will play the founder of a fashion e-business who is told that her company is importing senior citizens to be interns as a community outreach effort. Shooting is set to begin in early 2013.
