Harold & Kumar get animated on Adult Swim
An animated version of the Harold & Kumar stoner comedy series of films starring John Cho & Kal Penn will make its debut on Adult Swim. Original writers Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg are on board to write & produce while Cho & Penn will voice their animated characters & also produce.
Hulk still set to smash on ABC
US ABC network president Paul Lee has confirmed that a TV series adaptation of Marvel's Hulk character is still in development by Guillermo del Toro and will likely be ready for next season. Lee also confirmed that the network has other superhero projects in development but declined to provide details.
Punisher series holstered
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pilot for a TV series based on Marvel's The Punisher is not moving forward. ABC Studios and Fox originally gave a put pilot commitment to the show with Criminal Minds writer/producer Ed Bernero onboard, but have declined to pick the pilot up to series.
Adams to venture into Dark Places?
Deadline reports that Amy Adams is in talks to star in a thriller from writer/director Gilles Paquet-Brenner based on Gillian Flynn's bestseller Dark Places.
Yates no longer hears Your Voice in My Head
Harry Potter director David Yates has announced that, due to conflicting schedules, he is withdrawing as director of Your Voice in My Head. Yates was set to direct his Harry Potter star Emma Watson in the film, which is based on Emma Forrest's memoir.
Brosnan, Cooper set date for November Man
Pierce Brosnan's Irish DreamTime production company has entered into a multi-picture financing & distribution deal with The Solution Entertainment Group with the first film under the deal being Roger Donaldson's action thriller The November Man. Brosnan will co-star with Dominic Cooper in the film, which is the first in a potential series based on the espionage novels by Bill Granger.
Tatum elects to go White House Down?
Deadline reports that 21 Jump Street co-star Channing Tatum is in talks to star in Roland Emmerich's action drama White House Down. The film is being billed as a Die Hard in the White House scenario, focusing on a paramilitary takeover of the White House.
NBC sets sail with Crossbones
NBC has announced a new 10-episode pirate drama series called Crossbones. The series is being adapted from Colin Woodard's book The Republic of Pirates by Luther creator Neil Cross. The story series will center on Tom Lowe, an undercover assassin sent to take down Blackbeard during the golden age of piracy in the 1700s.
