Freeman headed to Last Vegas?
Deadline reports that Morgan Freeman is in talks to join Michael Douglas & Robert De Niro in the cast of director Jon Turteltaub's Last Vegas. The story centres on four friends of retirement age who reunite in Vegas for one last blowout.
Dale cast in Iron Man 3
James Badge Dale has been cast in the role of Eric Savin in Shane Black's Iron Man 3, Variety reports. In the comics, Savin becomes the cyborg mercenary Coldblood, but it is not yet known if this will be mirrored in the film. The Marvel Studios film is set to begin shooting later this month.
MTV takes off Pants
MTV has decided against renewing the romantic dramedy series I Just Want My Pants Back for a second season. The series, based on the David Rosen book & starring Peter Vack, is now being shopped to other networks.
Edgerton commits to Felony
Aussie actor Joel Edgerton wrote & will star in director Matthew Saville's thriller Felony, Deadline reports. The film centres on a police officer who runs a young cyclist off the road then lies about the accident to his fellow officers. Shooting starts in late October.
Cruise, Downey elected for El Presidente
Warner Bros. Pictures are planning to offer Tom Cruise & Robert Downey Jr the starring roles in El Presidente, a new comedy that director Jay Roach is in talks to helm. Parks & Recreation scribe Dan Goor penned the story of an overzealous Secret Service agent who is tasked with guarding America's worst ex-president.
Harold & Kumar get animated on Adult Swim
An animated version of the Harold & Kumar stoner comedy series of films starring John Cho & Kal Penn will make its debut on Adult Swim. Original writers Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg are on board to write & produce while Cho & Penn will voice their animated characters & also produce.
Hulk still set to smash on ABC
US ABC network president Paul Lee has confirmed that a TV series adaptation of Marvel's Hulk character is still in development by Guillermo del Toro and will likely be ready for next season. Lee also confirmed that the network has other superhero projects in development but declined to provide details.
Punisher series holstered
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pilot for a TV series based on Marvel's The Punisher is not moving forward. ABC Studios and Fox originally gave a put pilot commitment to the show with Criminal Minds writer/producer Ed Bernero onboard, but have declined to pick the pilot up to series.
