Man of Steel sets records
Warner Bros.' Superman reboot Man of Steel has set a new June best-ever US opening weekend record with US$125.1 million, Deadline reports. Globally the film has taken US$196.7 million in its first four days of release. The film opens in Australia on June 27.
Arnie's back for new Terminator film
During an appearance at the 21st Century Financial Education Summit in Sydney, action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed that he will be back for the fifth Terminator film. He also confirmed that shooting begins in January.
Reilly has his Dey with Marvel's Guardians

Warner Bros. Pictures has fast-tracked a sequel to its Superman reboot movie Man of Steel, Deadline reports. Zack Snyder will return to helm the sequel which will see Henry Cavill reprising the titular role. David S. Goyer will pen the script. Man of Steel opens in the US this week and in Australia on June 27.

The third season of HBO's fantasy drama series Game of Thrones has become the second most watched in HBO's history with an average of 13.6 million viewers in the US, Deadline reports. The 5th season of The Sopranos holds HBO's top spot with 14.4 million viewers on average.
Eccleston to co-star in The Leftovers
Former Doctor Who Christopher Eccleston is making his US series regular debut in Damon Lindelof's HBO drama pilot The Leftovers, Deadline reports. Eccleston will join Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd, and Amanda Warren in a story that centers on those left behind after the Rapture.
Top Gun sequel still set to take off
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has told Deadline at the Produced By Conference that a sequel to 1986' Top Gun is still in the works. Paramount are still interested in making the film, and star Tom Cruise is still enthusiastic to reprise his role as rebel jet fighter pilot Maverick. The project was delayed following the death of original director Tony Scott.
Quicksilver to Kick-Ass in Avengers 2?
Marvel Studios is courting Kick-Ass franchise star Aaron Taylor-Johnson to play mutant speedster Quicksilver in director Joss Whedon's Avengers sequel, Deadline reports. Evan Peters was recently cast to play that role in director Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past.
