McGregor saddles up for Jane Got a Gun

Ewan McGregor is in negotiations to play the pivotal role of an outlaw gang leader in director Gavin O'Connor's western Jane Got a Gun, Deadline reports. Jude Law was originally set to play the role but exited when original director Lynne Ramsay abruptly left. Bradley Cooper was then cast but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.

Cruise to return for 5th Mission: Impossible

Tom Cruise will return as spy Ethan Hunt for a fifth Mission: Impossible film, Deadline reports. Cruise will both star in and produce the film which is yet to have a writer or director announced.

Iron Man 3 opens big in US

Marvel's Iron Man 3 rocketed in to eighth spot on the all-time opening day record list with a haul of US$48.31 million late last week in the US. Over the weekend it took in US$175.3 million giving it the 2nd-highest opening weekend of all time behind only the Avengers. So far, the film has taken US$680 million at the global box office.
