On July 3, 2003 Doug found himself travelling on a New York subway near Coney Island. He had no idea who he was, where he lived or what country he was in. Stuck by a rare and profound form of amnesia, a distraught Doug turned himself into the police and then the local hospital but doctors could offer no explanation nor predict when his memory would return.
On that day, thirty-seven years of his life experiences including all memories of family and friends were wiped out.
