Postcards From The Edge:
Substance-addicted Hollywood actress Suzanne Yale is on the skids. After a spell at a detox centre her film company insists as a condition of continuing to employ her that she live with her mother Doris Mann, herself once a star and now a champion drinker. Such a set-up is bad news for Suzanne who has struggled for years to get out of her mother's shadow, and who finds her mother still treats her like a child. Despite these problems - and further ones to do with the men in in her life - Suzanne can begin to see the funny side of her situation, and it also starts to occur to her that not only do daughters have mothers, mothers do too.
Steel Magnolias:
At The center of the group is Shelby Eatenton (Julia Roberts), newly married and joyfully pregnant, despite the fact that her diabetes could make childbirth life-threatening.
Terrified and angry at the possibility of losing her only daughter, MLynn Eatenton (Sally Field) looks to her four closest friends for strength and laughter as she battles her deepest fears of death in order to join Shelby in celebrating the miracle of new life.
Guarding Tess:
The country loves her. The President listens to her. But he`s the secret service agent stuck in the worst assignment of all - guarding Tess.
Nicolas Cage is hilarious as the beleaguered agent and Golden Globe Award nominee Shirley Maclaine shines as the fiesty, former First Lady who seems intent on making his life hell. These great Hollywood talents join forces for the first time in this classy, fell-good comedy that`s like "DRIVING MISS DAISY with attitude (USA Today)" and guaranteed to have you in stitches.
