Moonstruck:
Moonstruck is a sophisticated romantic comedy about the loves, jealousies and entanglements of an Italian-American family in Brooklyn. Cher plays a dowdy widow who tries to patch up the estrangement between her timid fiancé and his younger brother Ronny by personally inviting her prospective brother-in-law to the wedding. Ronny, a hotheaded and passionate baker has something more romantic in mind. While his brother is in Italy, Ronny sweeps Cher off her feet and into an unexpected love affair.

Mermaids:
Mrs Flax (Cher) is a free-spirited, independent woman with two children, Charlotte (Winona Ryder) and Kate (Christina Ricci). The things is, Mrs Flax doesn't like sticking around a place when one of her relationships fail, and so the family have been moving around the country all of their lives. When they arrive in East Port Mrs Flax finds herself falling for the local shoe shop owner (Bob Hoskins). Only this time it is not only Mrs Flax who has fallen in love, but also her daughter Charlotte.
