Description
The magic of Lassie is brought to life for a new generation.
This beautifully photographed classic is set in the historic American west of the 1870’s. Lassie stars as ‘Shep’, the faithful canine pet of Tommy (Gary Gray) and Jonathan (Paul Kelly). Jonathan is a miner in the frontier land who strikes gold after years of prospecting. His faithful dog Shep must come to his rescue when conniving mining partners turn crooked and threaten his life.
The super-intelligent collie Lassie was actually a “laddie” and first appeared on motion picture screens in the 1942 film Lassie Come Home, based on an Eric Knight novel. The dog, born in 1940, was named Pal and continued to play Lassie in various adventures throughout the 50’s, thrilling both young and old audiences with his hair-raising escapades. The popularity of the television series, which began in 1955, made Lassie one of the wealthiest and best known animals in the world. Lassie, loved by people of all ages, remains one of the screens most unforgettable characters.
