Description
In one of his most provocative films since LAST TANGO IN PARIS, Berardo Bertolucci's LA LUNA explores the troubled relationship between an American opera singer, Caterina, and her son, Joe.
When her husband dies suddenly, Caterina takes her teenaged son to Italy, where she will be performing in several operas. As she immerses herself in the busy rehearsal schedule, she fails to notice that Joe has fallen in with a bad crowd and has developed an addiction to heroin. In desperation, Caterina attempts to wean him off the deadly drug using one of the few means at her disposal: her sexuality.
