Description
Narrated by Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman and directed by Academy Award winner Richard Trank, I Have Never Forgotten You is the definitive portrait of Simon Wiesenthal (1908-2005, Vienna, Austria), a Holocaust survivor who helped track down over 1100 Nazi war criminals following World War II and spent six decades fighting anti-Semitism and prejudice against all victims of the war.
Watching the early efforts of the US government to prosecute Nazi war criminals, Wiesenthal realized "There is no freedom without justice," and initially decided to dedicate a few years to that quest. A few years turned into the rest of his life. Celebrated by many as the conscience of the Holocaust, this moving and important documentary tribute looks at the sacrifices he made, the criticisms he faced and ultimately the legacy he has left, whilst also revealing the scope of the international political and historical landscape across the last century.
Filmed on locations throughout Europe, Israel, and North and South America, not only to film interviews and accompanying material but also to obtain new and previously unseen archival footage, many of the interviewees have never discussed the legendary humanitarian on camera. Friends, family members, long-time associates and government leaders from around the world - including Academy Award winner Sir Ben Kingsley, who played Wiesenthal in 1989 - have come together to tell his unforgettable story.
