Bogart leads an all star cast in this comedic drama that follows the adventures of a motley crew of swindlers and con-men as they wait in a small Italian port aboard an ill-fated steamer en route to Kenya, where land rich in uranium deposits awaits. Deftly directed as a parody of the Film Noir style by John Huston the film transcends its genre limitations as the cast of characters take to double dealing and triple crossing each other in order to lock down the valuable real estate.
THE JACK BENNY PROGRAM is one of the few television appearances made by Bogart during his career! Bogie plays it straight as he delivers his lines and sings his way through a live TV commercial. Mastered from a 16mm kinoscope this appearance is a great rarity featuring the legendary actor.
