Description
During the 1960s, Ronnie Barker established his comic credentials in a series of hilarious, dialogue-free slapstick films in the style of Eric Sykes’ The Plank – the format was later adopted by Rowan Atkinson in the Mr Bean series. Like The Plank, this noisy but wordless comedy of errors follows a group of bumbling builders as they attempt to construct a housing block while taking endless cups of tea. From Ronnie Barker’s frustrated attempts to lay concrete to Bill Fraser’s attempt to beat his fellow workers to the toilet, the incompetent labourers inspire a series of surreal sight gags.
