Crimes of Passion (Ken Russell's)

Set in the midst of a steamy red light district, this compelling film focuses on China Blue (brilliantly played by Kathleen Turner), a beautiful fashion designer by day, and a prostitute, keenly adept at playing erotic power games by night. Throw in an all-American man, who's trapped in a sexless marriage who falls in love with China Blue and a psychotic priest (Anthony Perkins) who tries to prevent their union, driving the wedge between love and sex. A thoughtful, sometimes very shocking study of sex, love, religion and insanity.
