Description
Born without an immune system, 17-year-old Jimmy Livingston (Jake Gyllenhaal OCTOBER SKY) is raised to fear the "evil filthy world" by the ultimate in controlling mothers (Swoosie Kurtz GET OVER IT). But, when Chloe (Marley Shelton PLEASANTVILLE) the girl he loves announces plans to marry someone else, Jimmy builds himself a bubble suit and sets out for Niagara Falls on a crazy adventure to stop the wedding. With no money, Jimmy has to rely on a parade of oddball Good Samaritans to help him on his way.
There’s a busload of singing devotees of the Bright and Shiny religious cult, Slim the grizzled biker (Danny Trejo) and his gang, the cast of a carnival freak show run by an evil midget Dr. Phreak (Verne Troyer), and the turbaned ice-cream vendor Pushpak (Brian George), whose van could pass for a mobile shrine and, finally, a pair of elderly twin chauffeurs, Pappy and Pippy (Patrick Crenshaw).
