Description
The life of a dysfunctional English family provides the basis for this hit show from BBC America. Housewife Alison (Amanda Redman) is a 38 million Euro lottery winner who keeps her winnings a closely guarded secret for fear that it will corrupt her family. Meanwhile, her husband (Peter Davidson) is embroiled in an affair, her eldest daughter disrupts the suburban idyl by becoming a lesbian, and her other daughter gets pregnant. It all adds up to a humorous poke at British life, illustrating that everything is not always as rosy as it seems behind the twitching suburban curtains.
