Description
If you’re in your 20’s, single and hate your job, you’ve got to get out of this town…
When Anthea decides her career is going nowhere fast, that her love life is DOA, and, well, all her friends are leaving Brisbane, she decides the best course of action is to get out of town and head to London to join the hordes of twenty-something Aussies making new lives for themselves. Problem is, her best friend Michael isn’t ready to make the move and seems content to enjoy casual hook-ups and benders at the local pub. Both of them realise why their impending separation is causing so much tension, but articulating their actual feelings of affection is a much more difficult task than cruising through life in neutral gear.
ALL MY FRIENDS ARE LEAVING BRISBANE paints a portrait of the twenty-something rut with pathos and warmth, delivered with a keen understanding of Brisbane’s unique vernacular, geographical spread and the issues facing the straight-out-of-uni crowd.
